Welcome to the Junior Smackdown!
While the Internet is typically just a place where people play games with terrible 1980's graphics, post weird pictures of their cats, troll social media, or stalk celebrities (like One Direction...not naming names, I'm just saying), it can also be used for good.
Like, educational type stuff.
Welcome to the 2014 edition of the Junior Smackdown, where the grade seven students of Vimy Ridge Academy will battle it out to decide which of the 16 contenders will rule all books for the year as the Smackdown Champion.
Every round, you will be expected to submit a blog entry about the book that you have read. In your blog, you will need to include a few things: a brief plot summary of your book, one thing that you loved about it, and one thing that you would change about it. You are welcome to include images as well.
In order to post on this blog, you will need to create an email address (preferably a gmail.com address) and give it to your teacher. They will then add it to the list, and you will be able to go to the blog, log in, and create a new post. Your teachers will show you how to do this when the time comes.
The due dates for the blog entries are as follows: April 10, May 15, June 5.
To create a title for your blog, you will have the title of your book, followed by your name (ex: Stargirl- Clownface M.). This way, we can easily see who has submitted their blog on time, and who was being a slacker and didn't do it. You will be receiving grades based on your blog, so make sure you get it done!
Good luck, and happy reading!
