A wonderful tale called wonder ~ Kennedy

August Pullman is no ordinary kid. Sure he does ordinary things, he eats ice cream, he plays basketball and he rides his bike. I'm sure ordinary kids don't make other ordinary kids run away screaming in playgrounds or stare at them wherever they go. Auggie sees himself as ordinary, but just because he has a facial deformity, others don't.

"Here's what I think: the only reason that I'm not ordinary is because nobody else sees me that way".

Auggie has never been able to go to a standard school, until now. He is just about to start fifth grade at Beecher Prep. Auggie is just like everybody else despite appearances. Although Auggie takes on challenges along his journey to self respect, he's not alone! He ends up making some pretty great friends!

Throughout this book, the characters teach you to just be yourself and to accept people for who they really are. As I always say "Don't judge a book by it's cover". This book addresses the points of view on August's life by himself, his sister, his classmates, etc. I loved how the writer shared the story through many points of view. I thought that this book was very heart-felt and was just a pleasure to read! This was an amazing book, but I would have changed the words to be more complex. Other than that I thought this book was "wonderful".
