Wonder and Maze Runner, heart warming and adventurous. These last two books in our smack down are very different but have a couple of things in common. One thing in common is that these novels are both page turners. It's quite hard to put them down. Another thing in common is that they both contain a male main character trying to find out who they really are. August, in Wonder, first interacts with other kids his age and spends time in a school environment. He finds out who he really is in the real world. In Maze Runner, Thomas doesn't know anything about himself (except his name) and tries to find out exactly who he is. The differences of the novels vary. One (Maze Runner) is suspenseful, frightful, and unpredictable. The other (Wonder) is joyful, sorrowful, and jubilant.
I feel like I am leaning more towards Maze Runner for my preferred the winner of the smack down. The Maze Runner kept me on the edge of my chair and interested me more. I could read it for longer periods of time without wanting to do something else. Don't get me wrong, Wonder is an amazing book but Maze Runner is the better book for myself.
