Maze Runner begins when a teenage boy named Thomas wakes up in a peculiar elevator with a blank memory. He is rescued from the dark elevator when 100 other teenage boys, known as the Gladers, welcome him to his new home, or worst nightmare, the Glade. Thomas struggles to remember his past and settle into his new home, but all hope of a regular life in the Glade is lost when the first girl to ever enter their prison arrives the very next day with a haunting message. Poor Thomas feels a strange connection to the girl and to the Maze that traps the Gladers, but one choice is all it takes to turn your already messed up life up-side-down.
I loved Maze Runner! Every sentence was captivating, and I could not put the book down! The action was so perfectly constructed that I could feel the characters' anticipation! This book is suited best for ages 10-14 because I believe the book was so much better when you found ways to connect to it, and I don't think that anyone under 10 could relate to Thomas' issues.
When I first stared reading Maze Runner I was very disappointed, because I had heard such fantastic reviews but I, myself, could not get into it. The beginning is hard to push past but you will not regret continuing to read this book.
