A Tale Dark and Grimm -Maria Lukowich
The two classic fairly tale characters, Hansel and Gretel, walk out of their own story and into eight gruesome nightmares that goes farther than bread crumbs and edible houses. They find themselves in exciting but scary situations, encountering a verity of monsters as they find their true destines. As they make their way through treacherous forests and meet spine-chilling beasts they find the true meaning of these eight stories and that fairy tales don`t always end with "Happily Ever After".
I didn`t think that i was going to really enjoy this book. In all honesty i just chose it because i don`t like fairy tale books and this whole thing is about reading different books and styles that you don`t normally read, and it ended up being really awesome! Anyone who wants a horrifying fairy tale story this is the book for you. It`s not like one of those books that are only meant for girls or only meant for guys, it`s perfect for both. From, in my opinion, 11 year olds and up should give this book a try.
If i had to change one thing about the book i would change the first, about 30 pages because it`s really just explaining the setting and how Hansel and Gretel were born, but with a bit of a twist. It`s not as interesting as the rest of the book.
