I Am Number 4 is about a teenage boy, we know him by the name of John Smith. He wasnt a normal pimple faced teenage boy, he came from a planet named Lorien. If your wondering why an alien is on our planet, long story short a nearby Lorien named Mogadore. Mogadore was home to a savage like species the Mogadorians, the Mogadorians attacked Lorien because the Mogadorians polluted and made their planet a wasteland. As the Mogadorians attacked the loric people took ten garde on a spaceship along with their cêpan. The spaceship brought them to earth but the Mogadorians came also. (A Cêpan is a person who trains their garde and a garde is a person who has special abilities and learn superhero like powers these were called legacies) Every garde got a number and John was number four. Now John and his cêpan Henri travel around U.S.A to hide from the evil Mogadorians every time things got unsafe for them, they move to their next destination they also change their identities. This is how they ended up in the small town of Paradise , Ohio home to 5,243 people. He meets great friends and some not so good. After a couple of months he drew to much attention and he had to move, but he refused to run so he prepared for the worst.
I really enjoyed this book, I thought that the author Pittacus Lore did an amazing job on his descriptive detail. I also enjoyed how action packed it was. The action in the book never really slowed down, It started with action and ended with action.
Spoiler Alert: I wish that Henri (John's cêpan) would have survived he played a major role in the book and be a great help for John when he gets all his other legacies.
