This past two weeks were filled with action, sadness, adventure, and wonder but not from everyday life, from this book "MAZE RUNNER"!
I personally hate reading novels but the incredible author "James Dashner" somehow managed to capture my attention with his novel and even got me into the series. I loved this book so much I actually read it almost three times.
An average 16 year old boy named "Thomas" wakes up in a hard, cold, metal elevator called the lift. When the doors open Thomas is greeted by a massive crowd of boys all wanting a glimpse of the greenie (newcomer). He cant remember anything from before the lift, he is only able to understand what certain words and phrases mean but cannot put a place or face to any. He is told so much but about the Glade and the Maze but has so many left un-answered. Thomas feels like his only purpose for being there is to help everyone escape despite the monsters lurking around throughout the maze. There is usually a schedule in the Glade, the lift brings up supplies every week and a new Glader arrives every month on the same day but the day after Thomas arrives a girl shows up with a disturbing message that would change the thoughts of everyone.
Thomas is pushed through so many decisions like who can he trust? How will they escape? Does he know her? Can they kill the monsters? Why doesn't he have any memories?
What I did not like: There was not very much that I did not enjoy about this book and there is not very much I can say without spoiling it. Except for the fact that my favourite characters die.
What I did like: Can I just not say everything I liked because the entire book though I do love how the book was filled to the edge with never ending action and adventure and it used a certain way of describing the characters, setting, and what was going on with them.
If I were the author I would probably change the fact that so many important characters were killed or taken throughout the book and series.
So if you like action and adventure come read this book because we have no Number 7's.
