Maze Runner by Selena S

Maze Runner is an absolutely amazing novel that was written by James Dashner. This book kept me reading for hours on end and I never wanted to stop.
A teenager named Thomas strangely woke up in the lift (a metal elevator) one day with an empty memory. All he could remember was his name. As the lift doors opened, he was greeted by other teens (called the Gladers) who also have no memory to the outside world or why they were placed in this mysterious area. Thomas quickly learns that his temporary home will now be the Glade, an area closed off by towering stone walls draped with vines. Huge doors on these walls open every morning and close off every night blocking off the unknown from the Gladers. The maze outside the Glade is trying to be solved by the Runners, who look for a way out to get back home. A day after Thomas came a girl appeared in the lift. Never has a girl arrived in the Glade, and the teenagers always come thirty days after the person before them. The girl shows up with an astonishing message, and there is a extreme increase of the panic level in the Glade.
What I enjoyed about this book was the vocabulary used, the high level of action and the extraordinary characters. The Gladers speak using interesting words and phrases. The reading level of this book for me was quite good. There was always something exciting going on and the cliff hangers at the end of each chapter made you absolutely need to keep reading on. All of the characters have diverse personalities and they are very well developed.
There wasn't much I didn't enjoy about this novel. The short chapters were a bit irritating at first but I got used to it through out. I didn't love some of the elements in the end of Maze Runner and it was highly unpredictable.
This book will keep you on the edge of your seat for all 374 pages.
