A Tale Dark And Grimm, by Emma

A Tale Dark And Grimm is about two small children on one big adventure. The children, Hansel and Gretel, embark on a journey that takes them from their own fairy-tale and leads them through many others. Hansel and Gretel learn what it takes to survive nightmares like children-eating witches, and soul-sucking hunks. But when a dragon comes to Grimm, will Hansel and Gretel step back into their own story and save their kingdom?

This book was a quirky twist on regular fairy-tale, that I quite enjoyed. I especially liked the little narrations that helped guide you throughout the story. A Tale Dark And Grimm does not include many challenging words, or have a hard-to-follow storyline. There is a clean break between each section, which I found helpful. I would recommend this book to anyone who prefers exciting fantasy and adventure. There is no shortage of gore either!

For me personally, I found A Tale Dark And Grimm an easy-read, and a bit immature. I probably would have used a more difficult vocabulary, and made it more of an older read. But aside from that flaw, I found this book a fun-read.
