August (Auggie) Pullman is about to start 5th grade at Beecher Prep. Now, for some kids this is an exciting event, but for Auggie its a whole different story. August was born with a very unusual facial deformation, not just a simple feature in an awkward position, but his whole face. He is used to all the strange looks, insults and continuous whispers, but he has never had experience with other students his age. His mother had home schooled him since he could remember. Will Auggie be able to fit in with the kids at Beecher Prep or forever be an outcast?
What I liked about this book:
It was a pretty interesting book, it really touched on how hard it is to fit in with society. At times it was easy to relate to, and it made me want to read more.
What I didn't like about this book:
I felt like it was a very easy read, maybe if the author added in more complex words and events it would have been more interesting. If they author added in more excitement and big events it would have been more interesting.
