The main characters in this story are Matt Cruse the Aurora’s cabin boy, Kate de Vries, the luxurious, spoiled passenger, who is also Matt’s love interest and Captain Walken the boss of it all, he is very kind to all of the ship’s crew and was almost a father to Matt after his dad died. Matt Cruse is the cabin boy on the airship the Aurora. Everything is fine until the ship is raided by a group of air pirates led by criminal master mind Vikram Szpirglas. The Aurora is run into by the pirates propeller and crash lands on a mysterious island that no one has been before… until now. Matt and a passenger named Kate go and explore the island and they bump into a strange animal skeleton that Kate believes her grandpa saw before he died. Will Matt and Kate retrieve the bones and show them to off to the real world or will they be stranded on the island forever?!

            I really liked the cloud cats (the name that Matt and Kate called the skeleton.) Based on what I read it sounds like they are some kind of panther bird hybrid. They are pure white and can disappear and reappear within 10-20 feet away. I disliked Vikram Szpirglas. He is a criminal wanted all over the world. Even though he is raising a 4 year old son he is still very cruel to many people.

          My favorite character is Matt Cruse. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He is kind of like me but knows tons and tons more about airships than me. He is kind and caring and has a thing for Kate de Vries.
