When Gandalf the wizard and 13 uninvited, and unexpected dwarves arrive at Bilbo Baggins hobbit hole, He finds himself whisked off on an adventure(something rare among hobbits of the shire who prefer to spend their time drinking tea and reading)! He soon finds himself entangled in the plot to regain the stolen treasure of the dwarfs in the lonely mountain. only problem? There is smaug, the Majestic, but Unyielding and unmerciful dragon. When Bilbo and his company faces elves, goblins, and other unsightly creatures along the way, they cant help but lose hope to reach their destination in time... But that my friends if something that Bilbo and the dwarfs can't afford to do!
This was a stunningly attention demanding book. the kind that makes you read it every chance you get.. Even if its on your 15 minute bus ride of which I am guilty of. It can work into the lives of someone from gr.6 to any aged individual who has read the lord of the rings, as the Hobbit is the prequel to that series. Even if you are not one for fantasy books this book is not one to be overlooked. For I believe you may regret it when you here everyone who has read it gabbing on for days about it.
What I liked: I really enjoyed how every character had so much depth. But the author didn't show all of their personalties at once but showed them when you least expected them to.(not unlike how your first impression of someone might be different of how you see them today)
What I would change: I was not a fan of how slow the start is. for someone not determined to read the book it might turn them off without knowing how intriguing the rest of the novel is
