The Heart-Sobbing story : By your favourite Ethan Brkin

August (Auggie) Pullman is a ten year old boy. August isn't an ordinary boy he's an extra-ordinary boy. Wonder is a book about August's first year in a public school his mom home schooled him up to grade 4. His family think its time for him to attend public school but Auggie doesn't want to go. Auggie wants to continued to be home schooled because he thinks he will be made fun of due to his facial appearances. Auggie was forced to go to an interview to attend the new school. When he arrived there were three kids named Jack Will, Julian, and Charlotte. The students took Auggie on a tour of the school they all seemed to be nice to him accept Julian. After the tour was finished he went to the Principal's office to see his Mother talking to the principal. The principal was excited to meet August. Mr. Tushman offered August to attend Breecher Prep Middle School. Since Auggie had a great time with Jack Will and Charlotte he decided to take the offer and attend the school.  On the first day of school, Jack Will sat next to Auggie for all of the classes and they became good friends. During lunch Jack Will decided to sit with other friends and August sat with a girl named Summer. Summer did not mine how Auggie's face appeared or how he ate because sometimes it was disturbing. So everyday for the rest of the school year Auggie and Summer always ate lunch together  in the cafeteria. Suddenly, a war breaks out between classmates and Auggie is stuck is in the middle of it. After the war ends, Auggie becomes friends with a lot of new kids in school and finally graduates grade 5 with a huge celebration!

The things that caught my attention in this book were how some kids choose to ignore how Auggie looked and got to know him anyway. They choose to not "Judge a book by its cover". I got emotionally invested in this book as well, I felt Auggie's emotional pain when he was happy I was happy, when he was sad I was sad.

The part of the book that I disliked was the bullying factor in the book towards Auggie. Kids were being mean to Auggie without even knowing him. They were judging him only by his appearance, when actually he was a smart, nice and a good friend to have.

Wonder is a good book to read because it teaches you not to judge a person only by appearances. This book teaches you to take the time to get to know someone before passing judgements!
